"They are going to make your AI models illegal". Anyone who thought that this wouldn't be coming is just delusional. I understand wanting to restrict apps and cloud services hosting the DeepSeek models. But the DHS has moved to ban all DeepSeek models regardless of their form, citing nonsense that the "models themselves may contain malware". It's a profound misunderstanding of technology used as an excuse to ban certain AI models. There is no evidence that the model weights themselves in the safetensors format could be used to execute arbitrary code, or that GGUF could load malicious scripts. All of that vulnerability resides in the model loaders, which is independent of the AI model itself. Today they are banning it just for federal civilian agency systems... what's going to stop them from banning it from being hosted on Hugging Face? When the paranoid people said that they are probably going to make local AI models illegal... well, we're seeing the first signs of it now.

We have gotten to the point where even some Reddit art subreddits are refusing to ban AI. There is a trend on Reddit where anti-AI brigaders open polls and then force people on the subreddit to ban AI. The moderator of this particular subreddit says 'NO'. Art subreddits are notorious for banning anything that even looks like AI, especially ones that deal with gender and gender ambiguity artwork... even more if they are connected to anything that even smells like LGBTQ... in places like the "cutefemboyArt" subreddit, HAHAHA! The anti-AI groups are losing ground every day as AI acceptance continues to spread, even among groups known for hating AI. It's time to join the future losers!
