this trump speech is genuinely insane, literal old man ramblings

Vivek Ramaswamy just reposted this article where he doubles down on closing Ohio Universities, to eliminate global Ohio engineering competition to benefit India and H1Bs. He wants to close the following Ohio Engineering and STEM Universities : University of Akron: Ranked #1 Globally for the Polymer Science and Plastics Engineering Program. Kent State University: Recognized for Aerospace and Mechatronics Engineering Program. Engineering Program ranks 46th in the nation. Central State University: Focus on STEM and research in the global tech-driven market. Formed as a 1890 Land-Grant institution, and known for the John W. Garland College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture. These 3 Universities collectively employ 20,000 Ohioans.

Daughter of a refugee. American hero.

It brings me no joy to say this but given the presidents shocking announcement that the Supreme Court is compromised by foreign interests, the next president will have no choice but to replace all 9 members with new justices who have no foreign entanglements.

for Alysa Liu to have this photo, in this spot, making a comeback, while wearing gold, and then win the gold, makes this one of the greatest Olympic shots of all time.

🚨BREAKING: TRUMP’S GOONS KICK A DOG

Kristi Noem: "I don't know of any peaceful protestor that shows up armed and with ammunition..."

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Cumberland Co. Sheriff: " The book & the movie do not line up. What I heard from Tom Homan almost a year ago, that we're gonna remove the criminals off the street…I was all set with that…but this is an individual that had permission to work in the state of Maine. We vetted him."

We are watching the Trump Administration lose normies in real time tonight. The midterms are coming.

What happened to Charlie Kirk is one of the worst things that has happened in American politics. My heart goes out to his family. FUCK WHOEVER DID THIS! Not only is it deeply tragic by itself, but we are now all in danger. Violence is always wrong and it's intellectual surrender.

until the day I die I will never understand why he was even still allowed to run after this

Do it, America.

A century ago, Germany’s democracy was hijacked by a bombastic and charismatic tyrant — and in this five-minute video, you’ll learn how he did it. Why did I produce this? Because I believe that history is speaking to us, and all too often, those who refuse to learn from it are doomed to repeat it. As you watch, imagine filling out a Bingo card filled with Germany 1933/USA 2024 parallels: big rallies, rage-filled and hateful rhetoric, simple answers promising quick and easy solutions to complicated problems, empty promises of a great-again future, scapegoating outsiders, and political enemies silenced on day one. And notice the caring wisdom and concern from my German friends as they share these lessons from their dark history. It’s hard to understand how Trump could, on the eve of a tight election, paint a picture of Liz Cheney before a firing squad by actually saying, “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? And let’s see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face.” You can’t get into the mind of a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power — but you can recognize the playbook they all seem to follow. Just watch this clip. It’s excerpted from my hourlong public television special “The Story of Fascism in Europe,” which is streaming free (and ad-free) at ricksteves.com/fascism. If you care about our democracy and love our country, it’s hard to stop watching. When I produced this in 2018, I hoped this day would never come in our country. But November 5th is upon us. Please share this with anyone in your life who might need a reminder that the stakes are high...and this is very real.

My statement on the debate:

Greater Cleveland Sports Commission has entered a highly competitive bidding process for the 2030 Special Olympics USA Games. Cleveland’s bid is due in October, and we need the support of the community! All Ohioans are encouraged to pledge support by committing to volunteering, attending opening/closing ceremonies, and cheering on the incredible athletes: SpecialOlympicsCleveland.com
