Don’t tell me that we “can’t afford” to invest in universal pre-k, child care, paid leave, lowering prescription drug costs, housing, and saving our environment.
@RepJayapal If we can spend an absurd amount of money on the military, we can take care of Americans!! We spent $300 MILLION a day in Afghanistan for 20 years.😖#BuildBackBetterAct
@RepJayapal I think you have enough public support that’s not the problem. I think that the American people are more sold on benefiting the country than the administration. They are certainly fighting harder for this agenda than the President. Apparently he doesn’t really want it.
@RepJayapal This argument seems to miss that BBB is new expense - not taken from other budgets
@RepJayapal Oh stop it already Pramila you lost the leverage!!!!!!!!!!!🤬
@RepJayapal You already told us it isn't possible by giving up your vote.
@RepJayapal So we are defending the right to be poor unless you are a Defense Contractor
@RepJayapal Wasn’t BBB supposed to be $7 trillion at one point? Then $4 trillion? Then $2 trillion? How’d it get to $220 billion?
@RepJayapal This reminds me of my questions from back in the 60s, when I was a kid Why do we spend so much on defense if we aren't spending that or more building a country that is worth defending??
