@robin_j_brooks Hi Robin, I have a very basic question that I have been meaning to ask you: when you are creating these graphs to frame your discussion points, how come you don't adjust for Euro(zone) inflation, for example Eurozone inflation is circa 25% since 2020?

@danobrien20 Hi Dan, I think your statement "Government taking more than half of everything anyone earns over €44,000" is factually incorrect, USC max rate is 3% until €70k. So marginal rate is 40% Income Tax + 3% USC + 4.2% PRSI = 47.2%. Over €70k marginal rate is 52.2% (as USC is 8%)

@danobrien20 In my opinion, rather than a prohibition, the legislation should say that Ireland will only accept goods (and specific services) from occupied territories if they have been approved for export by both Israeli and the Palestine Authority, until a 2-state solution is implemented.

@fiscalcouncil But if the FIF return is 7.56% I suppose it isn't questionable. But I would be very surprised/but also happy if it turns to to be that. It seems overly optimist. What happens in the scenario where the FIF return is below the cost of borrowing or negative?
@fiscalcouncil I think the narrative combined with the graph is misleading - as the new saving funds are only a part of the "Additions to savings funds" - in my opinion you should show the FIF/ICNF & SIF Fund amounts separately. The borrowing to fund the FIF/ICNF is what is questionable.

@SineadOS1 especially for physical infrastructure (Peer group, being Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Sweden)..as I said I can't comment on the methodology just that what you refer to looks incorrect.
