Last week our competency day was a success! Students from Chelsea, Manchester, Milan & Saline worked together during a mock simulation. They used emergency skills they have learned in class. Thank you to Chelsea Fire, Chelsea Police & Huron Valley Ambulance for participating!
Chelsea students had a great time visiting Emergent Health Partners today. They toured the dispatch center, experienced the driving simulator and practicing advanced life support skills (intubating a patient and gaining Intraosseous access for medication). @Chelsea_Hs
Today our Saline location Exercise Science & Sports Medicine class had the opportunity to collaborate with the Biomedical Science class, and educate them on spine boarding techniques!

Students are currently in our Emergency Medicine unit! They have been having fun stocking their emergency kits, running mock CPR scenarios & practicing taking contaminated gloves off (using ketchup). A bonus was students receiving their BLS CPR & First Aid certifications!
Students have been learning about the Cardiovascular system through digital 3D heart models, and exploring different heart conditions. Next up is CPR/First-Aid training! #SWWC #ExerciseScience

Thank you to Hannah Neal, an Occupational Therapist for coming to speak at both locations today. Students learned about the different settings OT’s can work in through activities such as: KT taping, wheelchair relays, making slime, TheraBands, & walker balloon volleyball!

Today, Mrs. Suiter was out of her traditional classroom but in another classroom becoming a certified First/Aid CPR instructor. Excited to be able to bring these back to my students and give them these certifications!
The @SWWCExecDir wrapped up presentations to 10th grade students in all SWWC districts. A lot of opportunities for students to choose from as they enter their junior year. Next step in the career decision-making process? Students & families attend the SWWC Open House December 1st

Savannah Monette came and spoke at both locations today! She is a Paramedic who was formerly an EMT & ATC, & has spent some time in the OR. She brings unique experiences to learn from. She spoke on Paramedicine & did a patient assessment activity with students! #SWWC
Yesterday & today Saline, Milan, and Manchester students practiced patient scenarios on the basketball court and in the gymnastics room. Thankful for the facilities we have access to, to enhance learning! #SWWC #healthcare #exercisescience #sportsmed
