Last night was the first time I watched The Patriot as a father. 10/10 movie. 0/10 for emotional stability. As a Marine, I’ve always resonated with the themes of duty, sacrifice, and love of country. But this time, what struck me most wasn’t patriotism, but why Benjamin Martin fought. He wasn’t driven by glory. He wasn’t chasing history. He was fighting out of love for the people God had placed in his care. Fatherhood has a way of rearranging your priorities. It doesn’t diminish your love of country; it orders it. Before we’re called to serve society, we’re called to faithfully serve those entrusted to us. As a great man once said, “clean your room” (iykyk). Put your own house in order before trying to set the world in order. The family is the fundamental cell of society. Strong nations are built from strong families, and strong families are built by fathers and mothers who embrace their vocation with courage and sacrifice. Our responsibilities don’t end at our front door, but they certainly begin with the people God has entrusted to us. With my planned extraction from active duty soon(ish), it’s safe to say I’ll never fight on the same stakes as Benjamin Martin. But being willing to die for my family means very little if I’m unwilling to live for them every day. Patriotism is no less important to me than it once was. If anything, I understand it better now. The deepest form of patriotism begins by being ‘Always Faithful’ at home.

@MegMont22813880 @Sol_Invictus66 @jayho747 @LiveAction If you conceive a child for the explicit purpose of putting them up for adoption that would be wrong. Adoption is a genuine good because it serves the child’s welfare when the circumstances already exist.

@liveandletdev @Nerdsauce1 @greg16676935420 I wouldn’t say that. I’m saying that you just described simple economics between consenting adults. That explanation, in and of itself, is not specific enough to constitute a scam.
