Something I think gets overlooked about the Beatles is their 3 part harmonies. John and Paul get a lot of credit for their Everly Brothers type thing, but every so often George has a third part that genuinely changes the entire feel. Without it, the moment is missing something.

in godard's pre-'68 films, the jump cuts feel like violent-but-academic interstices; in his later films, the cuts are ripe with incredible feeling and legitimizing dissonance. as much as the Late Style is talked of and lauded on here, its importance really can't be overstated
