Central Michigan coach Matt Drinkall, asked about a 24-team playoff: it "is going to make the regular season absolutely matter less." He called the lone Group of Six bid "a carrot to dangle." A head coach finally said it out loud. #SaveCollegeFootball
🗓️ 42 days until December 1. Dec. 1 is the reported deadline for CFP leadership to finalize 2027 format changes. University presidents haven't voted yet—fans still have time to stop this. Tag your school's AD below with #SaveCollegeFootball! 🌐 savecollegefootball.com/take-action
One quiet side effect of a 24-team CFP: the elimination or total devaluation of Conference Championship Games. Forcing teams into a 13th game just to enter a 4-round postseason tournament adds injury risk with zero upside. Protect tradition. Stop the bloat. #SaveCollegeFootball
The proposed 24-team CFP features 5 automatic bids and 19 AT-LARGE BIDS. That means 8-4 and 7-5 teams will routinely play for a national title. That isn't an elite championship tournament—it's a TV revenue inventory play. 🌐 savecollegefootball.com #SaveCollegeFootball
Tuesday MACtion is live, but the real threat to college football happens behind closed doors. A 24-team CFP means late-season losses lose all elimination stakes. We can enjoy mid-week games without ruining Saturdays. 🌐 savecollegefootball.com/stop-the-24-te…
No conference title games. Weeknight playoff games on campus to dodge the NFL. 23 at-large spots. The 24-team deal still isn't signed, and some commissioners pushed back. If you want every Saturday to matter, say so now. #SaveCollegeFootball
Per Yahoo's Ross Dellenger, ESPN pays about $350M more for a 24-team playoff, but losing conference title games eats about $200M of it. That leaves roughly $150M split across the conferences. That's the price tag on the regular season. #SaveCollegeFootball
One loss in Provo and Notre Dame's Nov. 7 game with Miami is now a must-win. That's the regular season doing its job. In a 24-team field, that game is just a fight over seeding. #SaveCollegeFootball
Not one team in the AP Top 25 stayed put this week. Miami is No. 1 for the first time since 2002. That's what happens when every Saturday counts. In a 24-team field, a weekend like this is just seeding noise. #SaveCollegeFootball
Going on ESPN and shoving it right to them about how bad this is is grade A work and I salute you 🫡
x.com/CollegeGameDay… Nick Saban, on ESPN's own set: "There's not 24 teams in the country that deserve to be in the playoffs." Hours later, five of the top seven lost. Those games felt huge because the field is small. Keep it that way. #SaveCollegeFootball
"There's not 24 teams in the country that deserve to be in the playoffs ... I don't think there's 24 teams in the country that can win the championship." Nick Saban reiterated his concerns about a potential expansion to a 24-team College Football Playoff in 2027.
