CIVIL WAR is an absorbing, eye-of-beholder film that offers valuable lessons in back-foot plotting, superb sound design. I wouldn’t call it great (two big things didn’t work for me) but it’s thoughtful, effective. Most criticisms seem rooted in anger over what it’s decidedly not.
