@COLLEGEFBONLY The thing is, we learned the contender list is a lot longer than it once was because the difference between good and great teams is minuscule. I think most teams in the top four levels could win it (exceptions being UK, Miss St, OU)

@TrojanFBx I think it is overall fair. OSU needs to see what things look like with the back QB and should quickly move up if they look good. IU needs to move down if they continue to have close calls against mid teams. Trojans feel like they exist between level 2 and 3 (TBD)

@TheBuckeyeNut All these analysts are asked to predict things that they just can’t know until they see what’s out on the field. It is certainly possible but I take it with a grain of salt at this point. No one should be pissed at him for doing what these guys are paid to do.

@Brooksyd15 No team plays a perfect game. Life is full of what ifs. Could have had your mindset with our Texas loss. You learn, improve, and move on. Take your punches and look at what’s in front of you. Looking back is what will get another L on your schedule.

@pdhoosier1972 I hate to say it but there is no “deserved to win” in sports. As an OSU fan I can make excuses for why we didn’t win by more: - The Big 10 admitted there were multiple missed pass interference calls on Smith. - Sayin was injured in game and one of our starting RBs didn’t play.

@FutbolFeller Good moral win to compensate for a real loss.

@Justin_Albers As an OSU fan we often complain about the same no-calls for Smith. It’s part of the game. Yall played a great game. The teams seemed pretty equal. Even so the better team doesn’t always win. We lost to Texas and we are better. We can resolve this in the post season.

@snowman_sports I think the teams showed themselves to be equals. The most consistent team doesn’t always win nor do big plays or superstars always win the game. If Sayin wasn’t injured we may have put away the game. We will never know. Maybe yall were the better team but football ain’t fair.

@OhioStFootball There is a chance but very very small.

@TCalBIP Indiana should have won. If our QB didn’t get injured we could have put away the game. Our defense did well against yall. You couldn’t run. But, yall had big plays when you needed them. I respect IU. I think we are pretty equal team. Someone had to win.

@HoosierOnX It was a good game between two good teams. Both made mistakes and both had great moments. OSU lost their QB and that impacted the two following drives when they could have put away the game. IU should have won the game if the foot was inbounds. Someone had to win.

@EvinKnowsBall The great thing is, time will tell. No one talked about Marv like they do Jeremiah but I don’t feel the need to defend this young man that will speak for himself in the very near future.

Yall beat us and we’re better than us last night. Keep all the receipts you want. I never claimed Miami sucked. I do feel confident a week or so before the game but it lessened the more a looked at Miami. We should take defeat with respect of and winner should spend less time sticking it to the loser and more time looking at what’s next. Yall ain’t done it yet but I hope you do to be honest.

@CLEsportsTalk Stop. This is silly.

@SullenSerf One can lose to an ACC team and still talk shit about the SEC especially when said ACC team beat an SEC team. Also, conferences don’t win games, teams do. The criticism of the SEC is their lack of understanding that simple reality.

@Underwood_szn Disappointing performance but not sure a fan of a broken program that no coach wanted to go to has much standing in opion sharing.

Well there is a both-and more than an either-or in this situation. He played really well against the schedule he had in front of him. The stats indicate that he is very talented. Last night confirmed that when he doesn’t trust his o-line he loses his vision and is susceptible to mistakes. Plus, no OSU fan should defend his lack of awareness when it is a good time to run and pick up yards available in front of him. Honestly, I think he did deserve to be on the podium but I do not think he deserved to win. Except for the winner of the Heisman, no other finalist was either playing in the playoffs and the SEC finalist lost to Iowa. I know he had a good performance but it was not in a playoff game and it was against an Iowa team that SEC homers, like yourself, consider bad (way below Miami talent level). At the end of the day it is a team sport and we lost as a team. The Heisman is a regular season award and leaving out Sayin would have seemed silly at the time. The is hind sight bias and doesn’t really work for making a valid argument but I still feel no need to be overly defensive about Sayins lackluster performance against quality teams.

Yes. The point of my post is that this SEac account makes claims via the logical fallacy, selective reasoning. The context you offer is correct and should be an important context clue to the result of the game. This SEC account does not offer this context for non-SEC teams to keep SEC teams at a status level they do not all deserve. As you can feel, this is frustrating and unfair.

Oh, we lost and we sucked in both lines. However your comment is in no way addressing the purpose of my post. You are deflecting. That’s fine. All I was doing was showing how this SEC account does this very same selective reasoning with any team not in the SEC. It seems many Texas fans missed the point of my post.

@levieshkol2000 @secnumbersguy I did. Because this SEC account would have failed to mention the same thing about any non-SEC team. That was the point of my post. The argument is illegitimate when you leave out important context.
