💡 Fast way to create Advanced 3D shadow catchers in After Effects Beta: use the 3D Camera Tracker! Select track points, right-click to add catcher/camera/light. Switch the light type to Environment and drop in your model. I like to color-pick a shadow color from the video, too.

Story Time! It took me a lot of time to do different shape animation. The transitions were actually quite rough because I didn't know how to transition to the next shot. So some of the movements aren't very logical. I will share some behind the scenes:) #aftereffects

Random Spider-verse tidbit. In our sequence we had characters traveling into / out of Spots, We wanted them to have depth so I created 2 techniques to help with this. Hidden geo that would cast shadows onto characters, or a proximity shader to give soft transitions.
@progress_sh_ Agreed. It was the first AE error I've gotten that didn't make me angry. 😂
