Ah, the joys of car insurance... "Would you like the 'Silver' cover level or the 'Gold'?" What's the difference? "Well, Gold reduces your excess by £50 and is 5-star Defaqto rated" How much extra will it cost me? "£0.06 extra" Erm...yeah, probably go with that then.

I have an annoying habit of filling in the pauses when @XanderArmstrong introduces the subjects on #Pointless: Xander: "And the subject for round one is..." Me: "Trombones?" Xander: "...Famous geological features" Me: "Oh." I'm genuinely amazed my wife hasn't divorced me.

Before I file an envelope away, I always write a detailed description on the outside, so I know what's in it without having to rummage through it. Some correspondence requires more detail than others.
