When we said "potentially historic" blizzard, we meant it. A number of records were broken at our office in Negaunee Township, most notably the all time 2-day snowfall total which was measured at 36.3", breaking the previous total of 31.9" set in March 1997. #906wx #MIwx

@cassiefrey_wx "Who is bro warning" as if the polygon doesn't have 4 words of text describing exactly what is being warned 💀 (Most are joking and that's ok, but there are several that aren't)

My first ever 0-pop polygon, glad people are reacting normally to it (Yes I know most are joking and I'm laughing with them, but the fact that some genuinely ask why a remote National Park would want a SVR is...something)

Grateful for any and all that are willing to say that the NWS is public safety and not the fraud and abuse that the government is looking to eliminate.

While there's a lot more questions than answers about the future, it continues to be a great honor to protect the life, property, and national commerce of this great nation. I am grateful for the people's support in return!

This is sad. JE Kirtek and Kevin Goff are staples of the weather community there, situated relatively far from 3 different NWS offices. Hope that they (plus relative newcomer Isaac Cleland) can find employment at competitors because they're really valuable to the area.

WJRT (ABC) in Flint/Saginaw, MI will layoff its entire staff of local broadcast meteorologists this spring. this area routinely still sees severe wind gusts. these are all just from 2024

Happy New Year! Here is a look back at some of the interesting stats at WFO Marquette in Negaunee Twp. and a few other locations. Looking back it was an extremely warm year with well above normal daily highs and daily lows. Have a safe and prosperous New Year! #906wx #MIwx

The Marquette area just set its warmest year since records began in 1959 at 44.1 degrees, beating 2012's 43.8 degrees. This warmth was shared across the Midwest. While the Marquette area only hit 90 once, 23 record warm overnight lows helped fuel the record temps. #906wx #miwx
