@srdlobdell Yep. I can appreciate that! For me, Roget’s Thesaurus. Had find the right words or just needed help coming up with a word at all!

@srdlobdell I can assure you there are also moments of existential flight that also meet the 10/10 level! Take heart!

@TimothyRGaines “Each of us can only sing the song that he has been given to sing. My song is that of a theologian, and I am neither proud nor ashamed of it.” Ives Congar [I Believe in the Holy Spirit, 2:208] Always enriched by your singing, Tim.

@srdlobdell Thank you, thank you, thank you, Stephanie…for your ministry at MVNU and for exemplifying Christ in this time of transition. May you “overflow with hope” as you trust in Him (Rom 15:13)

Gave up a 50-year habit by retiring my fat, back-pocket wallet in favor of the amazing, slim, front-pocket Trove. Enjoy the comfort and improved security. All the photos I need are on my phone. #winmytrove @Trovecc

John the Baptist exhibits theological virtue in recognizing that his prophetic word is not what will straighten out the crooked world. His role, rather, is to straighten the path for the one who will. Pastors and theologians, our role is not to fix the world, but witness to Jesus

Filled with joy as I listen to Revd Dr James Mbugua teach from and into the Africa context(s) about clergy wellbeing!! This “voice from within”, this kind of contextual engagement, understanding, and application is so important.

I wish this didn’t need to be said, but it does: If your approach to faith needs to be ‘conservative’ or ‘liberal’ before anything else, those categories are barriers to faithfully following Jesus. Just follow Jesus, and let the categories bury themselves.

The thought of the people of Ukraine, afflicted by war, remains vivid in my heart. Let the passage of time not temper our grief and concern for that suffering population. Please, let us not grow accustomed to this tragic situation! Let us #PrayTogether

Holy Week reminds us that courageous leadership comes in peace, even in a power-addicted, violent world; it calls out the insiders who attach God’s name to their own agenda, even though it will be costly; it's willing to wash feet and pick up a cross, even when it's not deserved.

For the followers of Jesus, now is not a time for sleeping, for letting our souls be sedated. One of the great tragedies of our time is the refusal to open our eyes to reality and instead to look the other way. #PrayTogether #Ukraine #Peace

@rygiffin I know what you mean with respect to “objective met”. I’ve always aimed for my research and writing to make a difference for the Kingdom. To succeed only in making an impression on others would be the greatest of disappointments.

Despite all the disparaging of politicians, we need them—really good ones…ones who know how to listen and not just how to position themselves; ones who reject the intoxicating allure of short-sighted victories in order to pursue the more difficult work of unifying the nation.
