Yesterday a stranger messaged me for the first time. They spoke like we were mid-conversation. I realized it was because my partner had posted something online, completely separately. No reference was given to how they knew stuff or why, because to them, it was all connected.
Finding myself having to re-evaluate my boundaries and accessibility. I'm glad to be a helpful resource and be available, but finding some folk push that past a point of familiarity. Parasocial interactions and relationships are so weird.

A few folks have asked if I'm okay based on not liking valentine's day. Absolutely! I'm not single, but even if I was, I still empathise with others who don't love the framing of this time of year. That said, enjoy what you enjoy!

Started watching “One Day” on Netflix. It’s portrayal of Edinburgh Uni at around the time I was an undergrad there was pretty much how I wish I recalled it. Sadly, reality was less the Old College full of confidence and more The Green Banana Club riddled with insecurity. Life eh.

My criteria for buying movie posters: a film I've seen; a film I like; attractive artwork. All three combine brilliantly with this - The First Men In The Moon (1964), the design channelling Buster Crabbe serials from the 30s. I've waited a long time to find one & I'm delighted!

At long last I dug out my salt/mustard spoon made by Morel when he briefly worked in London during the 1850’s (the spoon is hallmarked 1851). He could do restrained elegance when he wanted to.
