Getting the winter 2015 vibe again, but this time not the frontier APIs, but local models. GLM5.2, DeepSeek v4.1, now MiMo as well. Open weight models are crossing the threshold of being viable for serious work. DRAM shortages are going to get worse, Engram is magic and it eats main memory. This is the real risk of Vibe coding, an intern could ship a feature that burns all the customer trust that took you 20 years to build in one Tuesday afternoon, and it was buried among the 3,000 PRs the said Intern shipped in the same week, and no one thought it needed a human review.
