@EthicalSkeptic I haven't seen any actual data to support that vax has no effect on BA.5 severity. Have you? Everything I've heard says t-cells should still have some effect even after blood antibodies decline. So vaxed can catch it, but t-cells kick in reducing severity. Sounds logical to me

@EthicalSkeptic Hard to say. Does anyone who tests positive at home get their case reported anymore unless they go for paxlovid? It's anecdotal, but it seems to me that younger people are just staying home.

@Juli1Levy "Underdog", at least as commonly used in the U.S., simply means the one not expected to win a particular contest. A favorite in one contest can be the underdog in another. There's really no other context to it.

@WEschenbach Also, is there a point where abortion should be banned even in cases of rape and incest? If these circumstances justify abortion of a baby we otherwise agree has acquired personhood rights (otherwise why ban at all), why should there be any limit, even after birth?

@WEschenbach The problem with your argument is that if abortion is ok under certain egregious circumstances, where we feel especially sympathetic to the mother, what is the moral/legal justification for banning it under other circumstances? Can it simply be based on feelings?
