I wish more hopeful authors understood that #writing is as much a skill as a talent. It's something you can get absolutely get better at. Something you can learn. Having a knack is helpful, but it won't beat practice/experience, reading, and studying the stories you love. (1/2)

Odd things I've learned working with black power armor, most metallic paints need a somewhat brighter base under them, so it spreads evenly and isn't dulled by the darker base. Also pure black power armor is a myth. It's always a super dark grey with cool gray highlights.

@ClaytonSnyder2 I dunno. I consider quite a few very bloody brutal series to be heroic, such as Greatcoats. I know the definitions are always changing & I'm pretty fluid in my own personal genre definitions. I think i would have called a less bloody epic fantasy high fantasy, so I'm prob wrong.

@IdahoBones @CalderPreyer If we had sci fi ai I would be more sympathetic but I don’t think we should be creating that kind of intelligence in the first place. And we absolutely shouldn’t be giving it guns.
