Thom A @TSQL_Thom

How do I actually use group tabs on @firefox for android? Your site says just drag and drop the tabs on top but that doesn't work, it just moves the tabs around. I'm definitely on the latest version.

@code I'd rather you spend time not getting rid of good products like Azure Data Studio, and less time pushing the LLM hype... The feature is useless to me when VSCode MSSQL isn't a replacement, and SSMS is t Linux/Mac compatible.

@qylashas When the advert shows it links to a link shorting service you know it's a scam.

A quick celebration that Developer Edition now has Standard and Enterprise versions: wp.larnu.uk/sql-server-202…

@way0utwest These new options "excited" me. As someone that works with production Standard Edition, this is great.

@AzureSQL That's "great" and all, but what about all the features of ADS that aren't on the road map? What are users meant to do in 10 months time when ADS is EoL and there's no support in the MSSQL extension either..? Migrate to a different RDBMS that provides support?

It was about time I posted my own flavour of this: A simple Calendar Table example - wp.larnu.uk/a-simple-calen…

A bit of a ranty post today, but I wanted to rant; Azure Data Studio is being retired and I am concerned: wp.larnu.uk/azure-data-stu…

@DontCallMeDBA @erikdarlingdata It's my primary IDE at home, as I use Linux. VS Code isn't the same... Not looking forward to the "future"...

@AzureSQL VS Code is not a replacement for ADS, and in a Linux (and I suppose Apple) environment I really hope it's not going to be a case of going back to the dark ages and using DBeaver, as SSMS is unavailable. ADS was just getting all the features we wanted... Why kill it now..?

Doing my "civic duty" against SQL Injection again; don't worry, it's at my cost, not yours.

@SQLBits @ExCeLLondon Been waiting ages for this, been looking forward to it for ages. Now to find out it's local; that's a bonus.

@GFritchey Awesome; we already have that at the office!

Hey @GFritchey I've been pondering picking up your Execution Plans 3rd Ed and Query Store for 2019 for some time, but I've been wondering how relevant they are for 2022; would you suggest they are, or am I better waiting for a new Ed (if one's coming?). Thanks!

@GFritchey Thanks Grant. I assume when you say the 2022 book you mean "SQL Server 2022 Query performance Tuning"?

Thought I'd do a post on DbaTools, as it's something I always find useful, and thought I'd talk it up a little: wp.larnu.uk/an-introductio…

@way0utwest @drsql Yeah, the shirts.

@erinstellato I didn't even know it existed...

Look who posted a blog post for once; me! Stop using ROLLBACK in triggers; THROW an error: wp.larnu.uk/stop-using-rol…
