As we discussed on last weeks AICPA Town Hall. Very few businesses have submitted forgiveness applications. Key drivers - waiting for simplified forgiveness, resolution of deductibility of expenses for forgiven loans, and bank platforms not receiving them.
GAO says that the SBA had only received about 56,000 PPP loan forgiveness decisions from lenders as of Sept. 8. The SBA's forgiveness portal opened Aug. 10. There are more than 5.2 million PPP loans out there
