Most traders focus on the wins. But it's how you handle the losses that defines you. When the market humbles you. That’s your cue to study and learn. Adapt and strike back.

Breaking: Sam Altman and Dario Amodei just told the UN Security Council AI could be "a risk to humanity as a whole" and warned we could "lose control of the future to AI" Ten days ago, Michael Burry called this exact talking point self-serving hype: 1. LLMs are not AI and won't be AGI. There is nothing to slow down 2. Competition is coming up fast, slowing benefits incumbents 3. IPOs need hype & puffery; "we are so awesome it could become dangerous" is hype & puffery 4. Cover for real uncontrollable slowing growth as IPOs look to be pushed out

Underrated advice for stock traders: Staying out of bad market periods can double your profits! Most traders know they trade too much during bad market periods. But how do you actually stop yourself from trading? For me, the answer was to remove as much discretion as possible. I use a backtested Market Trend Model that gives me clear rules for when I should trade—and when I should stay out. Over the last 7 years, more than 2,000 traders have learned from me through my courses, community and coaching. And learning to stay out of bad market periods is one of the most important changes I teach. Because many struggling traders don't have a stock-picking problem. They can find leaders. They understand breakouts. They have risk rules. And during strong markets, they can make good money. The problem starts when the environment changes. They keep trading. They lower their standards. They take mediocre setups. They force breakouts without follow-through. They experiment with other strategies. And slowly, they give back the profits from the previous strong period. This is exactly what the Market Trend Model is designed to prevent. 🟢 GREEN: I actively look for new trades and increase exposure when the setups are there. 🟡 YELLOW: I become extremely selective and usually reduce my activity significantly. 🔴 RED: I don't take new long trades. My focus shifts from making money to protecting what I already made. These rules may sound almost too simple. But when I tested my historical trades, removing the trades I took while my Market Trend Model was red would have roughly doubled my profits. I didn't need more winners. I needed fewer unnecessary losses. I learned this lesson myself over many years. I used to trade far too much during bad periods. Even today, I keep working on becoming better at doing less when conditions deteriorate. My goal now is simple: Strong market → grow my equity curve. Bad market → keep my equity curve sideways. You don't need to make money in every market. You need a proven process that tells you when your strategy deserves your capital—and when your best trade is no trade at all.
