DJs nowadays have to do more to obtain bigger bookings. You rarely see a DJ that “just DJs” booked on a festival lineup, major club, etc. Making edits, remixes and original music I’d say is a necessity if you want to make it further than your local DJ scene. What do you think?

I can honestly say that I genuinely care about 99.9% of the spots I play at. I’m always watching to make sure the bartenders are moving and making drinks, I ask how the nights going or if I need to switch anything up. I do everything in my power to make sure the bar makes money
Do you play every set with the same passion, or are some just another check? Travis brought up how so many DJs are just placed at venues to fill the need for entertainment and they just show up for the check but may not actually care about the venue itself. Thoughts?
I would say that I care too much. I do my best to bring awareness to a venue even if it’s already solidified. I excel in marketing & bring my media team. Sometimes I’ll go visit on another night, shoot some content to build hype before I play. Stay up curating for days, weeks.

I’ve DJed for/with a ton of artists @NeYoCompound hands down is the nicest and best when it comes down to it. What an absolute legend and the nicest dude ever. His music is still peak hour material years later. @MrNewYorkPARTY and I gave him his flowers that’s for sure.
