@moneyacademyKE This will open a can of worms. They will be careless transactions that will be blamed on system error whilst people lose money

@kaka_ruto You have an assignment or work, you dilly dally as you fear starting asap might have poor creative output. And true to this, when we work on a tight deadline, we produce masterpieces😂

@OkowaNashon @OkowaNashon don't you think the road should start from Museum Hill where Waiyaki Way has been ignored despite its service to the Rift and Western cities and communities?

@PrairieBuilders Integrity of learning, integrity of competence, integrity of experience and integrity of workmanship. All these lack in the majority of construction personnel. That's why people opt for Chinese builders and the new companies are selling integrity as a core value in construction.

@BuildersCK False. I'd say planning. Everything rises and falls in planning. If you can project the costs and arrange financing through phases, then it shouldn't be a challenge. Starting a project without a consistent cash inflow is poor planning subject to dire risks

I’ve hired on Upwork using a client account, so I’ve seen exactly what clients see when you send a proposal. (See the screenshot attached.) If you’re a freelancer on Upwork, this thread will change how you write your proposals. 🧵

@Alpsdawg @jophick @MKMadoka_ Nanyuki was Maasai land. It is literally a Maasai name. Maasai occupied half of Rift Valley. The Kedong Massacre forced them to give up lands above much of the Equator. And Nairobi was mostly Maasai and partly Kikuyu land

Also, make sure your business has an active loan. In banking, KES 1,000 in NPA is more important and relevant to the bank than compliance. They'll ignore any order from KRA to touch your bank account(s) as long as you owe the bank even if it's ten bob.

Biggest threat to any business in Kenya is the KRA. As ⁦@echenze⁩ says, make sure you have all your documentation in order and don’t do shoddy tax work lest you see bad things

Kenya historically has so many reports that have never been implemented. There was the; 1. Kriegler report (kas.de/c/document_lib… ) 2. TJRC report (knchr.org/Portals/0/Tran… ) 3. The Ndungu Land Report (repository.kippra.or.ke/bitstream/hand…). Recently there was the NADCO report (parliament.go.ke/sites/default/…). Dear Kenyan youth do not be hoodwinked into dialogue to generate another report that will be left to gather dust. They know our issues.

Fellow Kenyans, since Jobs are few in this country the only thing that now pays is tenders for works or services from government entities. And this is how to proceed; 1. Register a limited company. This can bear any name like MUHOGO LIMITED. Many beginners trouble with fancy names sounding like interested fields. Imagine nobody cares about a mare name! Registration is possible through e-citizen platform. No brokers, just you as a single director with 100% shares. 2. Register for VAT Obligation and obtain a Tax compliance certificate online. No brokers! 3. Identify your area of interest (supplies for good/services or works). Know the relevant registering body and make an online application. Be worry of Consultancies, huko kuna ma cartels big time. For those in construction visit NCA website. No brokers! 4. Apply for Pre-qualification to be enlisted in tendering register in these government entities, you cannot be awarded a job if not prequalified. Those government procurement officers fear going to jail! 5. Watch out for advertisements for works or services. Check in their notice boards, websites and newspapers. This should be your full time job. Use connections, talk to clerical and secretary officers to text you when something comes up. These are very powerful links. 6. Participate in the tendering process. Documentation is key. Be street smart. There are guys in town with kiosks for tendering documentation. These guys can even fill a world bank project tender document accurately for auctioning entire Nairobi City. Please see them. 7. Submit your tender in time. A one (1) minute delay to deposit your tender will lock you out! 8. Come on the tender opening day and take notes. Also take a picture of the tender opening register and tender Attendance register (kuwa na evidence kwa kalatasi). 9. Be patient for the evaluation process. This should take not more than 30 days. You are allowed to check with the procurement entity if the process is completed! 10. You will receive a letter called “Intention to Award”. This will inform if it is you or someone else winning! If you are not winning you will be allowed 14 days to raise any complaints. At this point ujue kameenda! This Intention to Award should specify reasons you did not qualify. These should help you to improve your bid in the next attempt. 11. At the expiry of the 14 days in 9 above the Successful bidder will be issued with a “Notification of Award” also called “Award Letter”. 12. The successful bidder will be required to sign a Contract between himself and the procurement entity. 13. At an appropriate time and as funds become available the Successful Bidder will be issued with an Order to Commence. A letter giving a go ahead to supply or commence the works. 14. You will be required to supply the goods or services or commence works and raise requests for payments accordingly. ~keep trying, one day you will be successful~
