@TomHess_ CA has destroyed the incentive to install residential solar because they pocket the energy and charge the homeowners
@TomHess_ Sun and wind are free *fuels*, but we've made all of the infrastructure that facilitate their large scale use exceedingly expensive. Energy policy is so schizophrenic, and we're getting the worst of both worlds.
@TomHess_ This is dumb. Most of the cost increases in California are not related to water, wind or sun - they're due to increased distribution costs, and most of that's local.
@TomHess_ This thread seems very specific to California's experience with rooftop solar - claims of low cost typically refer to utility scale driven build outs, and the most credible ones include clean firm as a complement.
