The Unsolved @UnsolvedCaseHub

@monobrofka @grok @EchoesofWarYT Yeah apologies for the confusion. I wanted to send a mass DM out alerting everyone, but unfortunately it isn’t possible

On the evening of June 26, 2009, 10 year old Lindsey Baum was having a perfect summer day in McCleary, Washington. McCleary is a tiny logging town. Her family had moved there because they thought it would be safer for their kids. Lindsey spent the day swimming and hanging out with friends, running in and out of houses like kids in small towns do. She dreamed of becoming a writer and an illustrator. That night, she left a friend's house to walk home. A few blocks. A walk she'd made plenty of times. She never made it. Her mom stood at the end of her driveway that night, holding the house phone in one hand and both their cell phones in the other. She said that's the moment it hit her. Somebody took my daughter. The search was massive. Police, the FBI, hundreds of volunteers. They searched the woods, the roads, the fields, every ditch around town. Nothing. For eight long years, her family lived with no answers. Then in September 2017, hunters in the mountains of central Washington, near Ellensburg, came across human remains in a remote area. It was Lindsey. She had been found about 120 miles from home. Her disappearance was now officially a murder. Investigators have looked at multiple known predators over the years. They've searched homes, storage units, and wooded areas across the state. Nobody has ever been arrested. Today there's a reward of up to $40,000. Investigators still say they believe the case is solvable. They're asking hunters and hikers in that area to keep an eye out for anything else that might be out there. Her mom wears what's left of Lindsey's ashes in a pendant around her neck. 17 years later, the person who took a little girl off a small town street on a summer night is still out there. Somebody knows who it is.

@monobrofka @grok Vietnam War pics. Issues with X unfortunately, future Vietnam posts will appear on @EchoesofWarYT

On the night of June 9, 1995, 6 year old Morgan Nick went with her mom to a Little League game in the small town of Alma, Arkansas. It was a warm summer night. Bright stadium lights. Families in the stands. The kind of place where everybody knew everybody. Around 10:45 p.m., Morgan asked if she could go catch fireflies with a couple of friends near the parking lot. Her mom could see her from the bleachers. The kids ran around in the grass. Then they stopped to empty sand out of their shoes. Morgan sat down by her mom's car, by herself, just a few dozen feet from her friends. When her friends looked up, she was gone. That fast. Witnesses later said they'd noticed a man watching the kids that night. And a red Ford pickup with a white camper shell that left the area around the same time Morgan disappeared. The search was enormous. Police, the FBI, volunteers from all over Arkansas. Morgan was never found. Twelve weeks later, a man in a nearby town tried to abduct an 11 year old girl. His name was Billy Jack Lincks. Police questioned him about Morgan. He drove a red truck. But they couldn't prove it. He went to prison for the other attempt, and died there in 2000. For almost 30 years, the case went nowhere. Then in October 2024, police held a press conference. Years earlier, they had pulled a hair from inside Lincks's truck. New DNA testing linked it to Morgan's family. None of her relatives had ever been in that truck. The only person it could have come from was Morgan. Police officially named him as their suspect. But he's been dead for more than 25 years. He never said where she is. Her mom spent the last three decades building a foundation that has helped find hundreds of missing kids. Arkansas named its child abduction alert after Morgan. 31 years later, they believe they know who took her. They still don't know where he left her.

@FlagofBetsyRoss Interesting trend 👀

On the morning of June 4, 2010, 7 year old Kyron Horman walked into Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, beaming with pride. It was science fair day. Kyron had made a poster about the red eyed tree frog. He'd worked on it with his dad, mapping out every detail. That morning he wore a black T-shirt that said CSI. He posed for a picture next to his project. Around 8:45 a.m., he was reportedly seen walking down the hallway toward his classroom. He never got there. His teacher marked him absent. She figured he had a doctor's appointment. Nobody realized Kyron was missing until that afternoon, when he didn't get off the school bus. By then, almost seven hours had passed. What followed was the largest search and criminal investigation in Oregon's history. Hundreds of searchers. The FBI. Helicopters over the forested hills around the school. Divers in nearby rivers. They found nothing. Not a shoe. Not his glasses. Not a single sign of where he went. A 7 year old boy vanished from inside an elementary school, during a science fair, surrounded by parents, teachers, and kids. Investigators looked hard at people close to the family. The case turned into a years long public nightmare of accusations, lawsuits, and divorce. But no one has ever been charged. For years, the case seemed frozen. Then in 2025, the sheriff's office finished digitizing the entire case file. More than 5,300 documents. This June, on the 16th anniversary, they announced they're using new technology and AI to comb through every tip and every piece of evidence. The FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit is taking a fresh look. More detectives have been added. They released new age progression photos. They still get hundreds of tips every year. Kyron would be 24 years old today. His mom says every time the phone rings, she still hopes it's him. Somebody saw a little boy in a CSI shirt walk out of that school.
