An absolutely atrocious statement that epitomizes the Mayor’s deep antisemitism and anti-Americanism. And of course, the senior aides around him who painstakingly helped write this vile garbage are so imbued themselves with antisemitism that they don’t even realize how heinous this is. There is a reason both Democrats and Republicans are condemning this absolutely tone deaf and outrageous statement. October 7, 2023 was the bloodiest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust when innocent civilians including Americans were raped, slaughtered, and killed by Hamas jihadist terrorists.

Today is the most important day to clearly state that the “Israeli genocide” lie is both a deliberate, appalling, ahistorical, anti-factual smear — and also textbook antisemitism. Let me explain The Hamas-run “Gaza health ministry’s” own data debunks this lie. Of the ~73,000 deaths in Gaza since the onset of the war, which was started by Hamas in a shockingly vicious terrorist attack, launched with genuinely genocidal intent, tens of thousands have been combatants/military aged men. This strikingly low combatant-to-civilian ratio is an achievement by Israel, which took pains to warn civilians to get out of the way of bombs in advance, paused fighting to inoculate Gazan children, and sent gargantuan shipments of food and other aid into the territory during the war. These are not the actions of a genocidal force. They are the opposite. This achievement is particularly laudable given the enemy’s evil policy of launching terrorist operations from civilian neighborhoods, schools, mosques and hospitals. Hamas puts its own civilians in grave danger, on purpose, as a strategy. And it’s fairly successful because they know — despite the slanderous talking point pioneered by their stooges around the world (even starting while the Jews were still counting their dead) — that Israel is NOT willing to purposefully commit mass atrocities, let alone genocide. That word, “genocide,” has been utterly abused and obliterated of meaning, as a propaganda weapon against Israel. It does not apply to this conflict, certainly not to the Israeli side. But accuracy isn’t the point. Inaccuracy is the point. The word is wielded as a justification for every despicable act of the sick “pro Palestine” movement (which almost entirely ignores the brutal mistreatment of Palestinians by Hamas; a tell). Every time a Jew is spat on, a synagogue protested or attacked, a hostage poster ripped down, a Hebrew-speaking person berated, a soccer team shunned, an event disrupted, a Hanukkah celebration shot up, etc. it’s excused or rationalized or minimized by the “genocide” lie. It’s an anti-moral permission slip, and it’s been revealing who’s taken full advantage of it. They’re almost always people who can’t even feign concern about far worse treatment of various populations around the world. Including Muslim ones. Which brings us to the antisemitism, which is undeniable and obvious to so many of us. But because countless, gross 10/7 statements issued by terror sympathizers, cowards, and ignoramuses insist on repeating the “genocide” lie, while also insisting it’s not about Jews (but rather “Zionists,” the other side of the anti-moral permission slip coin), it must be spelled out: One of the core, black-and-white definitions of antisemitism is the erection of double standards exclusively against Jews (and yes, this includes the one tiny Jewish state—the only country in the world over which there’s a constant and loud debate over the legitimacy of its very existence…even though it’s been firmly established for many decades & was enshrined in international law, for those who at least pretend to care about such things). Lying about “genocide” and applying a novel/changed/invented quasi-definition of it (“look at these buildings!”) *only* to the Jewish state, for the purpose of demonizing/isolating/delegitimizing the Jewish state is straight-up antisemitism. On top of being a lie—things that so often go hand in hand. Reject the lies and reject bigotry. Or at a minimum, have the decency to stop flattering yourself as a good, brave person who’s on the “right side of history.” You’re actually on the wrong side of history, a modern-day heir of dark and ancient rituals of ugliness, scapegoating and deceit.

When they came back, countless hostages survivors said Hamas had to shield them from the mob of "civilians" who wanted to tear them limb from limb. Look what they did to the hostages who arrived dead:

The far left sees October 7th—the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust—not as an occasion to mourn the 1,200 Israelis murdered in an act of terror but as an occasion to romanticize the mass murder of Jews as “resistance.” The inevitable consequence of glorifying political violence is political violence itself. That is the dangerous direction in which American politics seems to be heading.

The Mayor of New York is an imbecile and with Jew hatred running through his veins so extreme that he can’t give up his blood libels even on this day of mourning. I hope those who have the misfortune of working with him @MarkLevineNYC @JulieMenin and @NYPDPC Jessica Tisch explain to him how offensive this is.

The world demonizes Israel 365 days a year. Perhaps, for just one day—October 7th—the critics of Israel could take a vacation from their hysterical hatred of the world’s only Jewish State and find it within themselves to express condolences for the thousands of Israelis murdered, maimed, mutilated, raped, and abducted at the hands of Hamas.

Three years ago, the world was introduced to Gazan society. Here are Gaza civilians displaying their culture. These videos were proudly recorded and posted by Gaza civilians on Palestinian social media.

You can have just a post marking the tragic October 7th massacre. You could save your selective ahistorical biased opinions on the whole history of Israel and Palestine (seemingly justifying October 7th) until say tomorrow. Your empathy could exceed your biases.

Gleeful mutilation and beheadings of victims were livestreamed by terrorists on October 7. There are still families searching for the heads of their loved ones, who had to be buried without them. Beheading was practised against children as well; Israel's National Centre of Forensic Medicine presented, shortly after the attack, disturbing evidence of a 12-year-old girl who was shot in the head and then decapitated. This bloody jihadist lust came from the very top of the chain of command. Harel cites two other operational orders for the October 7 attack. The statement by NY Mayor Mandami is an outrageous & disgusting rant & made on a day that ought to honor the over 1200 civilians butchered by Hamas including 46 Americans.  His comments are as insensitive & insulting as saying on the 9-11 Anniversary that “While we mourn the loss of those murdered by terrorists we condemn the response of the United States equally .”  There is NO genocide in Gaza.  The death toll there is due to Hamas having continued to hold hostages (including Americans) and starving, raping, torturing and killing them. An apology for his obtuse and utterly ignorant remarks are not enough.  God help the people of New York for electing a a jihadist sympathizer!

It pains me to say this (as a liberal Democrat, human rights advocate, New Yorker, and human being), but Zohran Mamdani continues to position himself as an enemy of the Jewish community of New York City. It is no coincidence that his continually expressed bigotry continues to translate into antisemitic violence perpetrated by his compatriots.

This was Gaza three years ago on October 7. Palestinians were kissing the floor with joy as Hamas paraded dead Jews through the streets. Remember this the next time you see someone call them the victims.

Three years ago today, an attempted genocide on the Jewish people took place. Rather than the world uniting with the Jews against a common enemy of humanity (Islamic terrorists), the West decided that Hamas (Gaza) was deserving of our full empathy and the Jews were the ones committing a "genocide." The inversion of reality is beyond what Orwell or Kafka could have imagined. The explosion of global Jew-hatred post October 7 highlights a very ugly reality: Scratch the surface and you quickly sink into the infinity pool of arguably the oldest hatred known to mankind.
