This community has come alive again. And this is exactly what we need. I know some people prefer chat rooms, but they are private rooms where you echo your thoughts and nobody outside hears them. As most of you know, posting publicly is a great way for the world to hear about @smarterwebuk. We are shining a spotlight on the company. I am just one very small cog in this community. “The fasten seat belts sign is on”. This is a message I received early this morning from one of the UK’s most experienced, savvy and respected financial traders. Someone I have come to know and trust for the last 25 years. 10-year bond yields are now almost 4.5pc - up some 50 basis points over the last month. 30-year yields this morning went above 6pc - a 28-year high. Yet the UK’s political and media class continues to focus on party posturing and folksy rhetoric, ignoring the slow-motion disaster that has been happening on the UK’s sovereign bond markets for at least the last 18 months - a disaster that will inevitably, unless we drastically change course, turn into a fully blown market meltdown. At that point, the UK government won’t be able to borrow enough money to finance our already spiralling debt interest bill. Britain’s financial management will be taken over by overseas technocrats - that will be the condition of additional borrowing, to maintain the basic functions of the state, as happened in Greece and Italy back in the early 2010s and here in Britain 50 years ago this year (when we were forced in 1976 to apply to the IMF for a bailout). The austerity then imposed on Britain would make 2010-2019 feel like a picnic - far, far worse than it would be if we took serious action now to control our public finances. Lower-income households would suffer most - and there would be serious damage done to the UK’s already rapidly-fraying social fabric …. I have been warning about these looking fiscal dangers publicly, in my newspaper columns and elsewhere, since at least early 2024. Doing so hasn’t been easy or fun. I have been dismissed and derided by numerous economists, “economists”, officials and policymakers - as well as lots of journalists. I absolutely don’t want a disastrous 1976-style outcome - which is why I’ve taken the blows and issued the warnings. The state is too big. Public spending is out of control. Our fiscal rules are a convenient nonsense - designed to kick the can of financial reality into the future. We need to get real … and take bold action to tame the growth of spending, push back a now totally over-bearing state and snap the British economy out of today’s high-tax-high-borrowing-low-growth doom loop - the result of myopic, counter-productive policy-making by successive governments for the last decade and more … Other prominent economists who agree with me - ie who are financially-literate, can read a yield curve, have a passing interest in economic history and who understand the dangers of some 80pc of UK government borrowing going on debt interest as it currently is - need to chuck “career risk” in the bin, and start saying publicly what so many of them have, for quite a while now, only had the bottle to say to me in private … Remember: “The fasten seat belts sign is on”

THIS MORNING. RAF FAIRFORD. 00:45. A pensioner called 999. Not MI5. Not GCHQ. A villager spotted three suspicious vans heading toward a US bomber base and dialled 999. Five men arrested under the Explosives Act, then upgraded to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act: preparation of a terrorist act. Three vans. 85 homes evacuated at 1.30am. Army bomb disposal robot inside a 400-metre cordon. Counter Terrorism Policing now leading. Major incident declared. The operation was not intelligence-led. A resident made a phone call. That is what stopped it. The IRGC already told you this was coming. In July 2026, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a formal statement naming RAF Fairford specifically as "a legitimate target." They cited the US B-1B bombers striking Iran from British soil, authorised first by Keir Starmer in March 2026 and continued by Prime Minister Andy Burnham. They published the threat. They named the base. Seven months later five men turned up at it after midnight. The intelligence services had no warning. A villager did. Now the part they really do not want you to know. Last November the National Crime Agency arrested a man in central London on a German warrant. His name is Mohammed Naim. Son of Basem Naim, Hamas politburo member, former Gaza health minister, US-sanctioned terrorist. Mohammed served as personal bodyguard to Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh from 2006. In summer 2025 he travelled to Berlin. Collected five handguns and ammunition from a Hamas contact. Drove to Vienna. Stored the weapons in a storage unit. Recorded a propaganda video announcing the plot. Target: Jewish community centres, Israeli diplomats, pro-Israel events across Germany and Austria. Timed for the second anniversary of October 7. Mossad and German intelligence foiled it. British intelligence did not find it. A court granted him anonymity for 100 years. He sits in a British cell while Germany waits for extradition. The state that gave him the passport is now hiding his identity. Indefinitely. Now look at what your Prime Minister found time for this morning. While five men were arrested at gunpoint outside an airbase the IRGC had publicly threatened, while 85 families were evacuated in the middle of the night, while bomb disposal robots crawled through vans a mile from sleeping US bomber crews, Andy Burnham was on the BBC. He was asked about Daniel Thomas. A father of four. A former soldier. A working man. And Burnham said it is "hard to conclude" he is "anything other than someone who has racist views." Instant. Confident. No hesitation. No "inappropriate to comment." Asked about five terrorism arrests at a US bomber base: "It would be inappropriate to comment further whilst investigations are ongoing." Asked about 85 families evacuated at midnight with zero intelligence warning: he is "being kept updated." Asked about a Hamas weapons operative handed a British passport who moved guns across Europe: silence. He found the words to attack a British father in seconds. He cannot find words for the people who were almost blown up this morning. This is the government that calls you racist for wanting to know who is crossing the border. This is the government that houses asylum seekers in better accommodation than 75% of the working families funding it. This is the government that gave a Hamas weapons operative a British passport and then a century of anonymity when he was caught. This is the government that sat on an IRGC threat against British soil and left a pensioner to do the job of the security services. They are not failing to protect you. They are choosing not to. A villager stopped the attack this morning. Not the Prime Minister. Not MI5. Not the Home Office. A resident who looked out of a window at 00:45 and knew something was wrong. They were right. It’s also worth noting who was in the room. A former Prime Minister and a former Chancellor both attended, as did a former Minister of State in the Cabinet Office. That is a marker of how quickly Bitcoin has moved from the margins into the mainstream of UK business and political thinking, and it is the environment in which B HODL is operating. London was the first stop on the Corporate Day international team tour, with high-quality panel discussions, a genuinely institutional audience, and a conversation that has clearly moved on from whether corporates should hold Bitcoin to how they hold it and what they build with it. I spoke on stage with @bencousens of Antidote, @RayOLightShow of Bitwise, and Charlie Erith of Wiston Capital, drilling down into the blockers and headwinds that are in the way of the Bitcoin industry in the UK, and considering what can be done about them. We have spent the days since in follow-up meetings with existing and prospective counterparties across two themes: Liquidity. Constructive discussions on access to liquidity provided by our operating businesses, and on how counterparties are thinking about Bitcoin-denominated balance sheets going into next year. Lightning business - LSP and Routing Since launching our public Lightning infrastructure we have had a steady stream of inbound interest from businesses that want to connect to well-run nodes, buy inbound liquidity, or build payments on top of our capacity.
