There are excellent people, and even better reporters, sales people and digital experts who will be losing their jobs. And to rub salt into the wound Metroland will not pay out any severances. For me it is 24 years in Hamilton. (I have worked in this business since 1989). #HamOnt
@WerkHCN Terrible news. Sorry to hear this @WerkHCN
@WerkHCN When businesses go into receivership, workers' pensions and severance packages should be protected.
@WerkHCN Kevin - I’m shocked to read this news for so many local reporters that will be impacted. I worked with you for nearly two decades while I was in Hamilton and you were always fare, aware, present and vigilant. A huge, huge loss for the media and information landscape.
@WerkHCN Kevin, your work on the local scene was thorough, accurate, and witty. This is a major loss for us in Hamilton. Reading your stuff here and in the Mountain News was something our family did together. Big loss for Hamilton - I hope you stay in the area!
@WerkHCN I'm so sorry this happened, Kevin. You are a hard working Hamilton reporter. I saw you at many political events in #HamOnt and often followed local meetings through your tweets. No severance is unacceptable
@WerkHCN Any way the equipment can be purchased from the receiver? Mass worker organization to resurrect something from these ashes?
@WerkHCN Get an employment lawyer. Now. All of you, together.
@WerkHCN Very sorry to hear, Kevin. Thanks for all your city hall coverage.
@WerkHCN How is this even allowed. What happened to Labour laws. This is why unions still matter
