Shenzhen has bus and taxi fleets almost all electrified, but it doesn't change the landscape of total CO2 from transport. The game changers are always: private cars, trucks and ships, especially for most coastal cities in China. (sadly, we lack ocean ship data here.) @IPCC_CH

@CornieHuizenga @SLoCaTOfficial Thanks for the questions. If you check their official yearbooks, you will find the sharp increases of truck tkm and PVs numbers in each two city. Emissions in our graph is just calculated from these basic data. Results are consistent with Beijing, though with a bit variance.

@CornieHuizenga Beijing has strong cap on PV numbers since 2011, that’s why it keeps stable. Shanghai’s case is curious. Seems great deal of PVs are not in Shanghai’s auction system for some reasons. They increased faster than Beijing. Maybe @SLoCaTOfficial can help find why.
