OTD 245 years ago, Simeon was converted: "Sunday morning, I awoke early with those words upon my heart and lips, 'Jesus Christ is risen today! Hallelujah!' From that hour peace flowed in rich abundance into my soul...I had the sweetest access to God through my blessed Saviour."

I grew up in Sabbatarian churches. This generally meant that eating out on Sundays & the NFL was frowned upon. Recently, I’ve heard Presbyterians like DeYoung speak approvingly of Sunday football. The late Sproul was an avid Steelers fan. Is this reconcilable with Westminster?

There is no moral symmetry in America’s two major parties. Disagree with Republicans all you want on economics or immigration, but they do not stand for the glorification and legal codification of innocent human death as the centerpiece of their party’s existence.
