i did this back in the era of analog cell phones, my ericsson brick had like 4x aa nicds on a plastic holder cut out from a toy crudely taped to the back replacing the original battery until i was gifted a newer (cdma!) phone for my birthday

i just took apart a broken slim laptop lcd to see how they're put together, but i didn't expect to find out that the internal layers smell exactly like fresh CD-Rs, nice
