@nickmil @LegrandAV My complaint about McMaster-Carr's site is there's no bread-crumb trail. You can't just copy a single part number's website and say "order this". You have to specify what part on the site you need to order. You also have to know what category/sub-cat your item is in to look for

@fremansolutions @ped1971 @HigherEdAV Jupiter's 105-inch "5K" display is 5120x2160, but Apple's 5K display is 5120x2880. Two very different resolutions being marketed as "5K" just because the first number starts with 5. It gets worse for "8K" where 8K UHD is often 7680x4320, over 300 pixels away from 8000

@fremansolutions @ped1971 @HigherEdAV Or the term "4K" which technically is 2 times (in each direction) the 2K resolution, a DCI standard. UHD is 2x (in each direction) of Full HD (1080p). Honestly, people should just learn to say the resolutions. Like what is 5K resolution? depends on who you ask...

@MikeSlamer @chris_neto The systems that have good switching between cameras aren't cheap either. I've heard that complaint a bit already too.

@chris_neto I feel many already are using tech to search resume's for certain key words for the position. Sometimes it's difficult for job-seekers to get selected past these bots, which is why it's better if you know someone #AVinTheAM

@chris_neto Company culture is huge. If you have someone who doesn't fit, it effects everything around that person negatively. Also, that person generally won't last very long. #AVintheAM

@JosiahWay Water left in an iron that doesn't get used will start to mold over time. It's easier to let them dry out.

@chris_neto Conf rooms? not so much. But we've done tons of Viz systems with it because you don't get shaddows. Also, larger classrooms with rack/proj rooms behind them. We love a good mirror-bounce system #AVintheAM

@chris_neto Client had to have their VCR. The proper scaling/converter to HDMI I'm sure was more than the VCR itself #AVintheAM

@chris_neto 1st off, signal separation. always maintain bend radii. make sure you have proper cable support using lacing bars, horizontal and vertical. make sure you use proper vents/blanks/and fans for proper air flow. Cabling is an art, and you'll get better with practice #AVintheAM

@chris_neto Ease of use is #1, if it's pretty, but can't tell what are buttons, it's useless. If companies like Apple or Bose have taught us anything, minimalist design works well as long as it's easy to use #AVintheAM

@chris_neto Depends on the client. Most devices get installed under the table. But things on top usually only get black/white as color options, and no other choices. Like touchpanels from the specific manuf you've chosen on the project. or they can go the ipad route #AVintheAM

@bchatchett Nope, after sitting for probably hours, my legs stiffen up. I need to stand and stretch. One of the main reasons I always get an aisle seat.

Unfortunately, not EVERY actor who passes away can't be in the "in-memoriam" section of the Academy Awards. But I think every one that I've heard NOT in it this year have never actually won an Academy Award. Something tells me that's step one of being included.

@JPWard Plus, it was a very different stadium during the Olympics. All the "light triangles" were above the stadium roof, allowing for better sight lines of the stadium from seats like yours.

@JPWard Please elaborate in "doesn't work". Poor audio coverage? Bad sight lines? Looks like you can see the whole pitch.

@brAVe_britt_ @chris_neto Very true. I know many rooms I've designed installed systems into often have XLR jacks or extra video inputs for large events that bring in their own mixer or video switching equipment into but use the in-room speakers or projectors #AVintheAM

@chris_neto House of Worship can be a combination of an installed system, and Live Event. Some pieces of their rig may be perm. but some temp. Depends on the church. Depends on the event. Many will rent in special stuff for special occasions #AVintheAM

@chris_neto The audience devices are really cool. But I think as video walls get smaller pitches, the walls have gotten much clearer in the last few years. Or, they've gone to a "flexible" design which weigh less, and require less truck space to move #AVintheAM

@chris_neto Firms need to discover the best way for them to compete. If you can't beat the big-boys, they need to find out where they can compete. Each firm will be a little different. Some will find it, some won't and will fold or be bought out. #AVintheAM
