Your SHAME might be the best thing you've got going right now. A man told me the hardest thing he's battling is shame and guilt. I mean the shame you feel about your own habits, the ones slowly wrecking your life. Let me ask you this. How many bad habits would you change if they caused you no shame? The answer is none. That feeling reminds you who you don't want to be. Use it to change the behavior, then forgive yourself. Some days you'll do that every time the old thoughts come back. When they do, tell yourself: stop, we don't live back there anymore.
