What a zinger: @united just announced some new flights, which aren’t exactly all that exciting. But the real punchline? The quote about why it’s adding these leisure flights. “If Spirit suddenly goes out of business it will be incredibly disruptive…” Damn, not mincing words!

So @AmericanAir’s first grab-and-go lounge just opened in Charlotte. It’s called Provisions and it took 35 days to open from when it was announced. The bad news? It looks bare-bones. No barista coffee, not even a coffee machine! Gotta go see it IRL before I make a final call.

Walked into dinner last night and plastered on the front door is this warning that you’ll be charged a 3% fee for using a credit card. I’d so much rather the restaurant just bake the fee into the food prices. I saw one person read the sign and consider walking out.

Finally! The new @Amtrak Acela trains are launching on Aug. 28. Obviously this comes just months after I stopped commuting between Philly and NYC, but nevertheless, it’s exciting!

Woah: @AlaskaAir has a bold new livery — and I actually like it, which is rare for me with new liveries. It’s designed to resemble the Northern Lights, and it’ll debut in January. Chester & Pualani aren’t going anywhere. This new livery is just for Dreamliners (for now…)

.@AlaskaAir is out with two new transatlantic routes from Seattle: London and Reykjavik. The crazy part is the new SEA-KEF flight will be the longest one operated by a U.S. airline on the 737 MAX 🤮 Also, any idea how Alaska got a Heathrow slot?! (I assume from BA or AA?)
