Happy #phycologyfriday. This is from this sampling this spring in NY. We just got back the sequence data and having fun writing up our our findings. Today’s surprise was that we got not 1 but 2 Sheathia species! ⁦#redalgae

Happy #PhycologyFriday Went on the hunt for fw reds with @morgan_vis and had some cool finds! Second picture is Paralemanea followed by Paralemanea covered in Audouinella. Last picture is a snail with potentially Virescentia attached to the shell!

Happy #PhycologyFriday. My current project is focused on freshwater #redalgae Lemanea & Paralemanea in eastern North America. The most talented @g_lindsey1 & @_acrowell are working w/me & have developed a solid DNA extraction protocol so next step is #herbarium material.
