Social media is one the least meaningful things we do; spending time with family is one of the most.
Yet we are spending more time on social media and less with our kids.
When you're dead, you don't know that you're dead. But it's hard for your loved ones.
It's the same when you're stupid.
So it's a moral responsibility to be less stupid, if not for your own sake, at least for the people around you.

Changed my mind on a view — don't read newspapers — I held for 20 years
With reasonably effective noise filters built over two decades, newspapers are useful again.
The un-personalized content is the right antidote to shatter the echo chamber created by the social media.

Software engineers shouldn't fear being replaced by AI. They should fear being asked to maintain the sprawling mess of AI-generated legacy code their employer's systems will soon run on.
Because that one will actually happen.
