@ProspectsUsmnt Yeah, the Cajuste situation was very unfortunate. In this case “my dad had to have lived in the US for five years” makes it sound like the chances of it working out are very low.

@ameriultrastalk @ChuckMe92Soccer @ProspectsUsmnt Even that wouldn’t fix it. The US citizen parent has to have lived in the US for at least five years *before* the birth of the child, and two of those five have to be after the parent was 14

@swagtastic002 @Hermesish @KiaHamadanchy @SethMan31 @MattDoyle76 Obed played official games for the YNTs so he had to file a switch. Esmir never did, so he doesn’t need to file a switch. He’s just an uncommitted dual nat player who made his choice just now.

@jarjoh @JonathanCohn Wow, TIL. I feel like this messaging from the agency didn't break through — I feel like even well-informed folks who follow MBTA happenings closely don't know this.

@ProspectsUsmnt 2020 was a great season for young player minutes because the COVID disruption forced a very compressed schedule — lots of midweek games, lots of squad rotation.

@pragidealist29 For most of the USMNT fanbase, Renard is just a stand-in for a mid-tier, realistic, foreign manager because the universe of realistic foreign managers is unknown to people who mostly just watch the EPL and the Champions League.
