Have heard some worry about the future of the YNTs among academy coaches due to the continued USOC saga. The USSF has become extremely reliant on MLS for YNT player selection post-COVID, not to mention that some MLS buy in is required for player releases.

While I agree that Jesus needs a move abroad, having a striker in MLS that we can rely on to bury minnows when called upon would have been revolutionary for the USMNT at any point between 2006 and 2018 and I’m not going to take it for granted.

It's become super clear to me over the last couple of days that MLS academies are going to bleed top prospects to Europe in the 08-10 age groups at an unprecedented rate. The path to Europe has never been easier and kids/agents know it.
