Can someone explain how an independent Next Pro club moves on players? Is it just to any MLS club that wants them? My understanding was MLSNP with an affiliated MLS team had a lot of in season movement between the two based on injuries/trials or whatever.

@kestrelpsych @mattdanaher Agree with what you’re both saying.. but around here (WNY) playing locally at 9 and 10 results in 12-0 games if playing your own age group. The 9 and 10 year old good teams have to basically play 12-13 year old travel/Rec programs to get a competitive game in.
Last night select Futures Training Program players were able to participate in a friendly vs U11 & U12 Pre-Academy teams. A great evening for all players involved at Historic Crew Stadium!
There couldn’t be a more accurate statement that explains why so many small brained, short term thinking youth coaches destroy young players potential by U12.
Fast players are the most underserved by ⚽️ coaches. They’re not taught to the same level because speed allows them to get away with mistakes. Outcome-oriented youth, HS, and college coaches let it slide because it worked. Results in players who never max out their potential

I see it happen often. You don’t know how good players are until they all get through puberty. Then the players with game intelligence and technical quality usually rise to the top.
You know that kid on a 14u team that’s one of the top 4-5 players, but definitely not the best because he’s smaller than everyone else and not shaving yet? Yeah, that guy will end up being the best HS player of the group 90% of the time. I’ve seen it over and over again.
