Interesting how well this applies to code development too Devs just love adding more complexity, more abstractions, more layers of indirection, more frameworks. By adding so many "processes", you abruptly slow down your development speed Just ship boring, simple code that works

I speak out against hype-driven development because I suffered from this syndrome myself. For example, 6 years ago I added Docker and Docker Compose (😅) to my website's infra. I never needed Docker, so it was a huge hype-driven waste. Today, it's finally gone!

💡Gradle Tip 💡 If you are using Kotlin Gradle DSL to write build scripts, you can use following way to manage plugin versions globally between all gradle modules. Once you setup this, you only need to apply the required plugin in your gradle file without mentioning the version

One day, I had to start working an existing demo project. I thought that I only have to create some presentation logic and hook the app to some data sources. Oh, boy I was wrong 🚫 The codebase had lists of elements that were actually screenshots inside ImageViews 🤡
