After reading the @nytimes lawsuit against @OpenAI and @Microsoft, I find my sympathies more with OpenAI and Microsoft than with the NYT. The suit: (1) Claims, among other things, that OpenAI and Microsoft used millions of copyrighted NYT articles to train their models (2)

One single Chinese real estate company - Evergrande had the equivalent of more than $332 billion in liabilities by June, 2023 which included money owed to suppliers, unfinished projects and its bond and loan obligations. I have come across a new book by Prof K.V. Subramanian Fmr Economic Adviser ( to whom?) in MoF, and now Chief Economist in IMF ( have we lost him?), which book on Monetary Theory is very interesting to read for economists (with a Ph.D). We should woo him back.
