There are lots of benefits to sport participation! Here is what matters most to girls according to the #RallyReport2022 by @WomenandSportCA. With recently announced funding of $25.3M, Sport Canada is excited to continue contributing to gender equity in sport efforts.

Resting is not a waste of time. It's an investment in well-being. Relaxing is not a sign of laziness. It's a source of energy. Breaks are not a distraction. They're a chance to refocus attention. Play is not a frivolous activity. It's a path to connection and creativity.

Make sure to remember AFTER the Olympics how many people are saying to support women's sports. More funding, more sponsorship/ corporate partnerships. Women's sports are clearly something people get behind. Extend it after this specific spotlight is gone.

I don't think any of us are surprised that returning to sport is going to challening. However, I was definitely surprised at how shocked I felt seeing it shared as research findings. We need to do better to support girls and that includes those experiencing disability!

1 in 4 girls are not committed to returning to sport. If we don’t act now to counter this trend, we could see over 350,000 girls sitting on the sidelines post-COVID-19. Learn more in the COVID Alert: Pandemic Impact on Girls in Sport report ⬇ 🔗bit.ly/3hDuwP6

My 3-6 students had a great time with Monster Ball Move. They realized it was harder than it appeared at first. Good communication and teamwork to make it happen. @EaglesAldrin @D54schools
