I know I’m getting old because my social interaction quota is now 3, ... on a good mental week, ... 2 if we don’t count dogs.

I’m pretty sure my generation is so tired all the time because we’re simultaneously undoing toxic mindsets and prejudiced perspectives/biases ingrained in our subconsciouses and doing work to ethically advance human progress with a foundation of empathy and altruism.

20+ years later and I’m getting better but still often occasionally crippled by the high expectations and irrational perfection standards from growing up in a conservative Asian household.

My biggest wish for you is 1) confidence immeasurable by accomplishment or external recognition, 2) pride defined by personal growth, and 3) value derived from knowing and loving yourself entirely and unashamedly.

A formal education is a privileged resource that shouldn't be taken for granted BUT it is not a prerequisite for learning or growth. Just because you didn't take the class, doesn't mean you can't learn the subject.

We are multidimensional, dynamic, and constantly growing. We do not have to be confined to one role defined by our situation, those around us, or even our current selves. We have the right to explore and truly get to know every facet of ourselves without outside permission.

Stop selling yourself short. Stop getting in your own way. Stop fighting yourself and start working with yourself. Give yourself a fair chance. Give yourself permission. You can do this. You are enough.
