Customer is on the demand side, but airline isn't. EK's cheapest PE basefare (MEL-LHR return) is $5051. While they're competing with other carriers they're also competing with their own business class (cheapest basefare of $10,325). Reducing their PE fare to MH levels might end up cutting into their own business class, which would be disasterous! It's all good when people say that PE is most profitable cabin (revenue relative to space), but that's purely static, not at the margin!

Yep. I like that term: seagul analyst 🤣 He has some involvement in an AI content writing app. I suspect he’s just using that. I don't mind people using AI. But when the user knows just enough about AI & the topic to know what & how to ask, but not quite enough about the topic to know what's not correct or how not to interpret it then it just becomes slop, albeit good looking and convincing slop!

@SeanMendis @airline_king I should’ve shown the “offending tweet” where his figure doesn’t make any distinction between domestic/international. Also, his count is off because it doesn’t include 2nd destinations on multi stop flights (of which they have many). It’s a unique feature of ET’s model.

I think I shortened the post from what I originally wanted to say (I was originally responding to him but he blocked be before I could post it 🤣). If he filtered out domestic prop flights he'd find a very small number of flights in the middle of the day, almost all higher frequency flights (as you say) and/or those capturing more local traffic. That "afternoon bank" from 1-5 is 60% domestic prop flights. His chart makes the afternoon bank look as big of the others because of that! You could call it a bank, but it's not part of the core connecting bank architecture that he was using it to describe!

Regular configuration. Impossible to change the configuration at short notice. Service can be adapted according to customer needs. Yeah, group was pretty big. Players plus coaching and support staff is well over 100 each. Reason for A380 was the need for the premium seats more than total capacity.

@airline_king Well it’s all just AI slop anyway. Later in the thread he mischaracterises ET as 3 banks, rather than 2 since he hasn’t taken the time to understand ET’s operation and filter domestic prop flights than run on a rolling basis during the day.
