@sharonleemdavis @PlayaRiviera Coincido: el problema no es la tasa en sí, sino la falta de transparencia. Si se publicara a dónde va cada peso y se reinvirtiera en Quintana Roo (playas, sargazo, seguridad), habría mucha menos molestia. Ojalá el gobierno lo transparente.

@rykitchel @PlayaRiviera It's been around since 2021, but enforcement used to be random, so many people never paid it. Now it's checked more often, especially on departure. Easiest fix: pay it online at visitax.gob.mx (takes 2 min), save the QR, and skip any airport booths.

@jandresalvarezt @PlayaRiviera Tienes razón en algo clave: en esos destinos la tasa normalmente va incluida en el boleto o en el hotel, y ni la notas. Ese es justo el problema en Cancún: el cobro es confuso y se presta a abusos. La solución sería cobrarlo en el boleto de avión.

El Visitax es un impuesto estatal obligatorio de Quintana Roo (no es un cobro informal ni de “buitres”). Aplica a todos los turistas extranjeros (incluidos niños) que visitan Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, etc. Se paga una sola vez por viaje. Tarifa oficial 2026: aproximadamente 293 pesos por persona (2.5 UMA). Se paga únicamente en el sitio oficial: visitax.gob.mx (verifica que termine en .gob.mx). Recibes un código QR ligado a tu pasaporte. Evita módulos o personas en el aeropuerto que cobren más (hay reportes de hasta 550 pesos) y sitios falsos que cobran comisiones extras. Lo más seguro y económico es pagarlo en línea antes de llegar o durante tu estancia. Este tipo de tasas de visitante existen en muchos destinos del mundo (Japón, Nueva Zelanda, Bali, Venecia, Barcelona, Ámsterdam, etc.), aunque la forma de cobro en Cancún genera mala imagen y el gobierno estatal ya está revisando el sistema. La mejor recomendación para los turistas: paga en visitax.gob.mx y guarda el QR. Así evitas filas, presiones y posibles cobros inflados. La primera impresión del destino no debería ser esta.

Ben Affleck reveals he writes Python, understands convolutional neural networks, worked extensively with GPUs, and used his celebrity status to get private looks at Google and OpenAI’s video models “I’ve always been kind of into computers since I was young. Then, when film started to move from analog film to digital, I became more interested in that aspect of it. The visual-effects workflow for many years has included machine learning, so I can write pretty shitty Python scripts and stuff like that. “With convolutional neural networks, which were the precursors to what the transformer can do, which is much more computation simultaneously, you would do things like look at what’s called a tensor. That’s the numerical translation of a visual image in numbers, like the batch number, the frame number and the red, green and blue values of each pixel in each frame. It’s just that simple. That numeric is called a tensor. “You’d use a convolutional neural network to identify patterns that reveal what’s called edge detection or feature extraction, which is identifying patterns well enough to know, this is where the window ledge is, so we can more easily take the green-screen image out and replace it with something. “That was familiar to me early on because, prior to Artists Equity, I had a small visual-effects company. I’ve worked with GPUs a lot too. The visual-effects guys said, ‘Hey, you should see. There are a couple: Google and this other company, OpenAI, are doing really interesting stuff with transformers in video.’ “I’ve learned that I can actually just call up and go, ‘Hey, it’s Ben Affleck. Can I come see what you’re doing?’ Sometimes people say yes, to my astonishment.”
