@marieomir @_ISCP_ @DonnellyStephen @CcoHse @gemda My patients waiting 2 years for routine ortho appts as experienced staff not working in roles that would eliminate these lists efficiently, misuse of staff and the elitist points system when it comes to entry to these courses doesn t help!

Students who would make excellent health care workers physios, OTs etc are not even getting the opportunity to study physio/OT in Ireland because of the ridiculous high points/competition for all these courses. Health system at capacity.

In Ireland, physiotherapists are not legally permitted to refer patients for X-rays, as they are not one of the health professionals included in the legislation governing referrals for these investigations @IrishTimes Health & Family (page 11: 02/08/2022)
