Da Italiano che vive in UK da 11 anni trovo l'idea di una #Italexit agghiacciante. Dopo anni dal referendum é ancora il chaos e tutte le crisi internazionali lí sono state sentite moltiplicate per 10 volte. Un fallimento totale e continuo, pensateci bene prima di imitarlo.

I will never understand the UX reasoning behind giving users a multi-line textbox in a contact form and then removing all the newlines in the version that actually gets submitted. You write it so that it is comprehensible and it comes out unreadable. Am I missing anything?

This is an experiment on integrating munit and cats-effect (esp. the Resource type) to replace the classic beforeAll/afterAll pattern. I think I got a bit carried away while doing and it's pretty hacky, but maybe it will be interesting for someone. github.com/Astrac/effunit

Every time I read something like this I add a couple of weeks to my self-isolation regime... 3 months of being completely alone at my place and still no light at the end of the tunnel thanks to this kind of people. Clapping for the NHS on Thursday, being like this on Saturday 👏

Am I the only one who would take 48 hours on a decent bus (e.g. Salon Cama) over 12+ hours of economy class flight without thinking about it? I find that the wsy airplanes keep getting worse and worse for people who won't spend 500+ for business is a great metaphor for capitalism

TIL: pre-Columbian civilisations in South America used knotted ropes (quipu) as an accounting and data storage system. This one keeps about 15000 numbers, assuming each number is encoded as a word you're looking at 15kilobyte of ropes, pretty impressive! 😀
