i’ve been managing engagement inside a founder’s paid community this week. one of the simplest things i’ve noticed: people don’t always need another post. sometimes they need someone to respond to the post that’s already there.
even with a small audience, there’s benefits to automating with tools like manychat. that time between you getting to reply and their intent to purchase is a friction point reducing the likelihood of conversion more and more as time passes.
If you’re not polling your Skool community before dropping a product, that may be why your launches are flopping. Imagine if the core of the Earth went cold for a few weeks then sporadically turned up the heat? Not much would survive…
What would you do in the time you currently spend moderating your Skool community?
Artists need a healthier relationship with commerce, not necessarily a more commercial relationship with their art.
If every dollar has to come from the most sacred expression of your identity, selling gets incredibly emotionally loaded. A service can be a service. A job can be a job. Your art can be your art. Sometimes they overlap; they don't have to.
Your work can fund your life without being responsible for explaining who you are.
Money gets a lot easier to make when you stop searching for an identity in your job.
I spent years trying to make something from nothing, then gave it all away before anything could accumulate Turns out you cannot build sustainable impact while running yourself into the ground 😂
Business is actually stupidly simple, and we make it harder than we need to. Make a product. Sell the product. Move the money. And keep enough of the money to keep offering your gifts to the world.
