#AskingAutistics is there a sensory friendly alternative to cepacol that doesn’t feel like you’re torturing your mouth but still is effective? Using it makes me want to cry every time, but it’s the only thing I’ve found that works
Autism is not a disorder. It’s a neurotype. Our brain is designed differently than an allistic brain. It was designed exactly how it’s supposed to work. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a disability though. It means autistic people are oppressed, not made wrong.
#ADHD folks can easily overwork ourselves at any job because - we do not like to feel incompetent - we do not want to be perceived by others as lazy - we do not want to be rejected - we have absolutely no clue what a 'regular' level of productivity looks like
You might be #Autistic if you have a natural inclination to root for the underdog and/or if your pattern recognition keeps showing you that while systems paint underdogs as dangerous, they are often the ones most in danger within a society.

@forestvanslyke I’m always told I’m too loud & yelling. I can’t hear it, to me I’m just speaking. If I text & I’m tired or just busy & my tone isn’t chatty enough, I get accused of being angry/rude when I’m just being direct to minimise time & effort. Getting real tired of my tone being policed.

The fact that so many non-disabled people don’t believe me when I say my fatigue is usually more debilitating than my joints dislocating multiple times a day tells me that people who haven’t experienced actual fatigue are genuinely incapable of comprehending it.
When you say “but what about autistic people who struggle to talk?” as a reason there is something wrong with being autistic, you are being ableist. I am semi verbal, and I am telling you there is nothing wrong with being autistic. Stop using people like me in your reasoning.

Glasses are !still! Not accessible in many parts of the world. There are multiple nonprofits whose primary mission is to provide eye exams/glasses for kids so they can like see the stuff their supposed to be learning in school
