The unions have decided to cut their nose off to spite their face. This labor “deal” if it happens will destroy the legacy OEM automakers. Their only paths out would be to automate and replace unionized people with robots or de-unionize. Neither are possible. So if this plan gets implemented expect the automakers to bleed money - this is the tipping point towards structural long-term insolvency. And I don’t see how the capital markets will allow these OEMs to raise long term capital without paying exorbitant rates. On top of this, the demand risk for these OEMs is that hyper automated/non unionized competitors like $TSLA can now completely run away with the car market because they will be able to aggressively lower prices while Ford, Stellantis etc will be forced to raise prices to pay for this labor deal.

Budgets are statements of values. Here are Trump’s: Cut Medicare by $800B. Cut Medicaid by $920B. Cut food stamps by $181B. Cut education by 8%. Cut EPA by 26%. Cut housing by 15%. He made sure to secure $2 billion for his border wall, though. washingtonpost.com/business/2020/…

Life is competitive. That being the case, there’s no way for everyone to occupy the same space. Some are fearful of where their best efforts can get them. They desire more than their capabilities can afford them. This is a personal problem. One that can derail happiness.

Explain blockchain to grandma. It will be the ultimate test of your ability to simplify complicated ideas. You need to understand the foundational knowledge of blockchain (ledger, markets, Internet), and explain that to someone who is furthest removed from technology.

Imagine a drug which, with no side effects, boosts IQ 10 points. Should it be a) Banned b) Sold c) Made freely available on NHS d) Put in the public water supply? Now, instead of a drug, ask analogous questions of an IQ-boosting gene which could be inserted in zygote genomes.
